Five Things Men Can Do To Increase Their Attraction

By Shelly Davidson

Winking (in a Good Way)

My feelings about The Wink used to be very conflicted. It was kind of cheesy and was used by too many men who thought they were suave and dashing, but weren't. I thought that way only because I had never seen The Wink done right. Seriously!

But I'm a convert now! All it took was one really hot guy who flashed me a perfect and seemingly effortless wink with a little half smile. Talk about packing a wallop! Sadly, not too many guys can pull this off without looking stupid, but hey, when it works, it REALLY works!

Clean fingernails

We're not asking that men be perfectly put together every second of every day. Yes, knowing how to clean yourself up and be presentable at a work or family function is definitely required training before we will date you. But we also love it when you're all rugged and sweaty and manly! It all depends on the occasion.

Similarly, you don't have to have to most amazing physique either. We would prefer you not hold us to model standards so we're not going to do that to you either. What does count, however, is being attentive to the little details of personal hygiene. A dude with a forest of nose hair, or dirty, too-long-for-a-dude fingernails is a major turn-off.

The Nose Knows

The general consensus is that most women hate a dude who drenches himself in cologne. That said, having a subtle but definite man smell is irresistible. Some women (right here!) think that an all-natural guy scent is a wonderful and alluring thing. Hello, pheromones! Other than that, picking a deodorant that smells great or using just one spritz of a sexy cologne is certainly attractive.

Laughter is the best medicine

Men who are so concerned with looking cool that they can't appreciate a good belly laugh when the opportunity comes up are just, um, lame. Laughter is infectious and when a lady is hanging around a guy who lets the giggles rip at will, she is more likely to laugh along with him.

And we all know that laughing and smile incite the brain to produce all kinds of yummy happy chemicals that will have a woman making an instinctive connection between that happy-go-lucky guy and feeling good herself. Super magnetic.

Losing it

While women like a guy who isn't serious all of the time, we don't want to see a guy who loses it on a regular basis either. We all have problems that we deal with, life's stressors that have to be dealt with, but guys, freaking out over every little thing is a total turn off. It indicates a serious lack of maturity. We want to be your girlfriend, not your mother. - 31991
