Finally back at home in Ealing, London after a fun and relaxing three weeks in Pattaya. So having kissed my wife i was greeted by the big pile of fresh post. God it was depressing. I had two parking tickets totalling 240.00 plus a 500.00 water rates invoice. This was then quickly followed by a demand from the water board for 1500.00 to fix a leak in their pipe! God I am only back 5 mins and I'm stressed already.
Over the following weeks a serious of un-related events started to make me seriously consider my living situation. Since moving my Thai wife to England I could see that some of the fun and love of life had been sapped out of her, she now religiously got up with me at 07:00 and worked all day in my office till 20:00 or more. I could see the stress taking the toll on her. In England and London in particular you live to work, it's the norm, you grab a quick lunch and normally eat at your desk - I often work 6 days a week, sometime even seven. The MP's expenses row which wouldn't have normally bothered me really hacked me off, If it was any of us claiming for mortgages we didn't have we would be sacked and charged. That's it I declared over my second (or maybe my fifth) glass of Pinot - we are moving to Thailand.
On a recent trip home to Thailand to see her family in my wife (Chanichar) was amazed to find many old school friends and college friends coming to see her... and what did they want? They were all looking for her help in finding a good western husband. She was even more surprised to find other Thai women from the next town whom she had never meet also knocking at her door with photos and profiles.
So because of these encounters she felt there could be a need for a modern bridal dating agency and www.beautifulthibride.com was conceived. My wife spend the next three months working with programmers and designers so that on coming to Thailand she could launch her site.
On October the 16th 2009 we landed in Thailand and the hard work begins. - and now the hard work we need to find a house, an office for my wife, staff, internet , bank accounts, we need to arrange the transferring of money from the UK and so much more. Well I won't bore you with all the details but I have listed below who i used and my thoughts - was it hard work - no - in fact compared with doing the same in the UK and the bureaucracy you would have had to face it has been sheer pleasure.
We have been here over 5 weeks now and I have just finished my dive master course and looking for a PADI dive school to get involved in.
