Searching for a Girlfriend

By Abigayle Karla

Spending your days and nights alone? Longing to hold and share laughter with someone? Maybe it is time for you to find a girlfriend. Not just any girl, though, she has to be the right girl for you. So, what are the things that you need to do to catch the right girl?

If you are serious about seeking a committed relationship with a girl, first assess your own personality. Get to truly know and understand yourself before even beginning to seek out a relationship. Here are some questions to ask yourself: What are your interests? Your strong dislikes? Are you a night owl or a morning person? How much time can you commit to a potential girlfriend? What are you core values and beliefs? Answering these questions has two purposes: first, you will know what you need in a potential mate and, second, you will know how much you are willing to sacrifice for the right girl. Gaining a good understanding of yourself will help you not waste your time searching for a person who complements you. It will also give you insight on where to go to meet potential mates: there's a big difference between searching for love at a bar and at a church!

After you figure out what you need to make a relationship work, it's time to develop a list of what you want. Be realistic in your requirements. How important is physical appearance to you? Although you need to be attracted to your potential girlfriend, looks should not be the only quality that you like about them. Try to find attractive girls that enjoy the same hobbies as you do. For example, if you like working out, you may be able to find a girl at the gym who shares your interests. Starting a relationship is much more successful when you already have someone in common with the person. This makes conversation develop more organically and therefore, there will be less awkward pauses and a better connection will be made.

Third, be proactive. Getting a girlfriend means looking around for the right person for you, not just waiting for her to land on your lap. Being proactive also means that you have to be confident enough to take charge when the situation dictates that you be so. Girls, usually, do not like it when they take the lead all the time. You have to do your share, too.

Girls are attracted to men who know what they want and have a strong level of confidence. However, do not let your confidence turn into cockiness as that is the biggest turn off for girls. Take charge when needed, but show honest interest in her ideas and be willing to compromise.

Although you can get girls at bars, nightclubs, etc. these are not usually the places you want to go to look for premium girlfriend material.

Catching a girl, any girl that is, is easy. Unfortunately, you will realize one day that trial-and-error relationships become exhausting in the long run. On the other hand, catching the right girl for you takes a little effort but the results are definitely worthwhile. - 31991
